831d26052a store: expose the mutex so we can lock query-results 
The QueryResults must not outlive the lock (when in a MT context), so expose for
clients (mu-server) to handle it.

3820118246 store: rename "metadata" into "properties" 
properties are the constant (for the duration) values for a store; metadata may
change, so reserve that name for that.

05393ba797 index: save/commit metadata after messages 
Ensure the metadata (dirstamps) for messages are only written / committed _after_
the accompanying message have been written / committed.

This avoids missing updates when indexing gets terminated unexpectedly.

5fc8a8f83e store/query: access query only through store 
Make Mu::Query only accessible through store, so we can lock the db for the
duration of a (full, multipass) query.

f035c801bb store: save contacts more often 
Use the new Contacts::dirty() so serialize/save the contacts whenever we commit
a transaction.

3dd721d5a3 clang-format: update c/cc coding style 
Update all cc code using .clang-format; please do so as well for future PRs
etc.; emacs has a handy 'clang-format' mode to make this automatic.

For comparing old changes with git blame, we can disregard this one using
--ignore-rev

c3032bd672 mu-store: enlarge buffer for strftime 
On Debian 9 random memory was printed with the original buffer size
and valgrind complained about the use of uninitialized memory.

83d6484f86 lib/mu-store: rework implementation 
* mu-store.h, mu-store-read.cc, mu-store-write.cc, mu-store-priv.hh have been reworked
   in mu-store.{cc,hh}, it the mix of c/c++ improved
 * update all the dependent modules
 * make it easier to upgrade an database in place (without user intervention)
 * remove the xbatch-size option

f7245d2372 mu-store: Silence confusing code that's throwing a clang warning 
Doing:

    !access(...) == 0

Is equivalent to:

    (!access(...)) == 0

Not:

    !(access(...) == 0)

And throws this warning under clang:

It ends up doing what the author intended anyway since access() returns
-1 on error, and !-1 == 0, but just do the more obvious check and check
that we don't get 0 here with !=.

7eb244b3b0 mu: don't use __FUNCTION__, use __func__ 
__FUNCTION__ is deprecated and gives compilation warnings. __func__ is
standardized in c99.

3c7061338d Rework getting database version (#469) 
It seems we don't get the correct database version in some case with
some compilers, optimization flags. Suspecting some stale ->c_str().
